as most seven month babies do and I love to photograph them doing it...such a big part of this stage.  The only thing is we tried to get those toes up to the mouth too, but she was more interested in my blocks for sucking.  These pics were taken at my house during a Baby Mini....

Her mommy was sitting behind baby so she could not see her face and she kept saying, oh, I hope you are getting a few smiles...if you want smiling baby pictures 6 months old is the time to do it....

Long over due post...| Fargo Newborn Photographer

This post is so long overdue.  This session was almost two weeks ago now.  Another amazing newborn with a shy adorable brother.  I do have to apologize to her mommy though for calling newborn "E" small.  She was 6 pounds which is average sized, but I think everything seems small when you have two almost 10 pound monsters like I did.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Newborn hairy shoulders...got a love em...and gotta love that the fur eventually goes away.

I found a new fun perfect location!!! | Fargo Family Photographer

Well actually the mommy found it and brought me there today.  Please forgive me for jumping ahead with this blog post for others who are waiting for theirs, but I just felt it necessary to show off the location a bit just in case someone was interested in this spot for their location as well:)  I will have more from this session later because the first half was all at their home...these are just the location photos.

 

Love this location because it is intersting and the lighting is perfect.  It also lends itself well to alternative processing like below...I played around a little mixing some things to get this....

She had a little bit of everything | Fargo Children's Photographer

Spunk, reservation, joy, playfulness and a whole lot of ridiculous cuteness.  This girl I assure you is just starting a journey where she will touch and leave lasting impressions on many people's lives. These were her 3 year pictures and I am very grateful to have met this resilient little girl.

Happy Birthday Mrs Schmitz!!! (And a scheduling note)

So happy that I was able to spend this day with your sweet "E" while you teach my sweet "E".  I grabbed a couple quick pictures of her while Josie was at Gymnastics.  These were taken outside of American Gold in South Fargo.  Hope these brighten your birthday just a bit.

And my scheduling note...just so you know...I am now booked in both May and June, so if you are wanting a summer appointment for July or beyond, now would be the time to schedule it. My shooting will be a little more limited in July as I will be taking vacation for a couple weeks that month. I do still have openings for a couple "Baby Minis" though if you would like to get in on that.  The details of that are in a previous post.  Also, if you have a newborn coming up, even though my schedule is full, I would try and get you in because I love shooting them, and because they are only newborns for a very short time.

Gallery Wraps

Gallery wraps are my new favorite thing.  I have typically promoted Standouts and have them in my own house, but I recently had a client order a gallery wrap and let me just say that I have officially flipped to that side.  I LOVE IT!!!  I love the texture and the way it feels so much like a piece of art rather than just a picture.  I tried to take some pictures of it which totally do not do it justice as I am obviously no product photog, but at least you get the jist.  I wrapped this one with white edges, but the image can also wrap around the edges as well.

 

They standout 1 1/2 inches from the wall....

Newborn continued.... |Fargo Newborn Photographer

Here is the rest of the post from the mini sneak peak I gave a couple posts ago, remember...

                   

We did this session at my house because this family has had a ton on their plate.  Firstly they have no home for their family right now due to the flood, theirs was one that actually got hit, they just had a newborn, and if that was not enough for them the newborn baby had a breathing scare and spent the night in the hospital to monitor her breathing. Despite all of that drama, I can honestly say this was one of the calmest sessions I have ever done.  Mommy, baby, and 5 year old sister were with and I think we whispered 50 percent of the session and I do not think it was to keep the baby sleeping because seriously newborns this little (8 days) sleep through anything, it was just that was the personality of the session. 

This newborn stuff is so totally addicting!  (Maybe that is why I just spent a ton of money on newborn accessories..shhhhh don't tell my husband, he is beginning to think I run a not for profit business)

The newborn smile is elusive and a lucky grab and we happened to get it with sweet miss "I"

They came with some SOUL | Fargo Children's photographer

All the way from Kansas city.  They were here for Easter weekend and included pictures in their visit.  These two little burritos are 2 1/2 year old twins and they were giving me all those soulful yummy yummy looks.  So here is the thing about twins...they are twins so naturally you want pictures of them together, probably even more so than regular siblings, but lets just say these two really wanted nothing to do with together pictures and they had the sweetest coordinating outfits with Kelly green as the main color...we started at the Plains Art Museum....(have I mentioned before how excited I am to get outside again????)

So finally that is the end of the soulful yumminess...or is it yummy soulfulness???  Anyway, I should not have done what I did, but I was hoping that somewhere in there there was a little smile, so I said, show me your happy face...this I mind you is very very bad, it is maybe just one step less criminal than uttering those icky words "say cheese"...well this is what you get when you say something so silly...

 

So at the very end I suggested that we go outside for a couple.  We had not originally planned to go outside so mommy did not have any "photo taking clothes" to venture outside, so the twins just slipped on what they came to the shoot in and out we went....well would'nt you know who decided to show up outside...Mr. and Mrs. smiley and their alter ego..."YES, for sure we will look cute in a couple pictures together"....which is all great and all, minus the fact they were no longer in their cute coordinating green outfits...oh well, I guess that is what black and white is for:)

Goodbye hibernation.........

Hello Spring!!!  Just a couple from today our first day that felt wonderful and lovely to play outside!  Those ladies of mine were not very happy when they saw I was bringing out my camera, but tough...seriously, I have a right to take pictures of my own kids!!  They disagree:(

Josie's very first big girl bike instead of a trike...she rode it all the way around the block today...I am seeing lots of walks in my future this summer!  This is a major milestone in the life of parents with two young kids, no more strollers, and no more wagons to go for walks!!!

 

Notice..no snow on the ground...and there is a cute six year old in the picture doing something very Spring like!!

                   

My sensitive little Josie who I adore was looking at the big kids playing had just asked if she could play too.....

                   

When one of the big kids said "No, you are too little" and then in a second she was like this...

                   

I swooped her up and told her I knew first hand that it can be hard to be the "little one" and she cried her sweet cry in my shoulder and then my kind hearted caring Ella quickly invited her to be part of her team and then in an instant again she was happy.

Hope you other Fargoans and West Fargoans enjoyed the beautiful Spring weather today.

Fargo Child Photographer | The Luck of the Unlucky

Hard to believe, but once again I got a flat tire.  My first was 5 months ago on the way to a photo session and this one was right in the middle of one as we were changing locations.  At least this time there was visual proof and I did not feel like I was telling some wacky story.

I guess one has to expect some bad luck though when getting lucky enough to photograph cute kids like this sweety.  She had the most ridiculously cute with sweetness oozing from it closed mouth half smile which she readily used through out our session to charm me:)  She made me forget all about the darn flat tire.

 

                   

 

 

                       

                   

This seems to be a very popular dress below.  I photographed two little girls wearing it two days in a row and Ella has it too, but in green.

 

 

So her daddy below has a lot of things going on in his life.  Firstly he was in a body building contest last weekend so he had dropped a lot of weight since the first time I met him a couple months ago and second if you enjoy hunting he is the originator of the show "Wildlife Pursuit".  The website for their show is www.wildlifepursuit.com.  It is on at 6:30 on WDAY on Saturdays.  All that body building made it pretty easy for him to toss miss "L" around!
