This little guy had no stranger anxiety at all for a 1 year old. He was very easy to hang with and really hung in there since he had an evening session which could be difficult for little ones. I think he had one of my favorite little guy outfits yet. His mommy brought a whole bunch of stuff and we pieced this together from what she brought.

I received an email back a few months ago requesting a portrait session from a family wanting pictures prior to going back to Mexico for the summer. When I inquired where in Mexico and she said Torreon I about freaked out since my husband has been traveling there since December and it is not the most common place in Mexico to come from. After further investigation, sure enough, this young couple with their two adorable...and very different little boys worked for John Deere just like my hubby and were on assignment here in the U.S. It is for sure a very small world.
They were such a sweet family and I got to practice my very limited spanish skills from a few classes in college. There is such freedom in a way photographing people with an origin in another country. If they thought that I was a little wacky it could just be blamed on the fact that I am American...rather than I am actually wacky..(which is probably the real truth)..anyway, I am just loving their family pictures so I will start there...
And the two amazing boys with dark eyes and different personalities. The younger was silly silly silly from the get go and the older more serious and reserved...
And some individuals....
Gotta stop somewhere...

These two sweet girls came to see me a while back and they were very easy to photograph, and they were tough I tell you. In the first 5 minutes of hanging out the older sister fell and got her pants all dirty. Mom was very smart though and turned those pants around so they were backward for the rest of the session. And then at the end little missy fell with a huge noise which left a very large bump on her noggin. They kept smiling and playing through it all. So nice to meet you little ones....
Love little blonds in black and white...
But I could not resist showing off those peepers though in color...
I know..another walking family one, but this one has some good humor in it. Look how daddy is holding his little girl.
Also, sorry to those who have emailed and I have not gotten back to you yet, I will soon, but I have had so much editing, ordering, and packaging I had to prioritize a bit. You should here from me soon.

I am jumping way ahead on my picture posting to just post a couple from a session yesterday to show off one of the most beautiful parts of spring...flowering trees. I just love them and they make for really pretty colorful pictures. Just like fall leaves these trees are really fleeting. One stiff wind and all these pretty petals will be on the ground:( I am hoping they will still be available for some sessions next week.
And the little guy in this picture who his mommy told me that he may be slightly difficult to get to cooperate was one of the most fun kids to photograph. He was totally cooperative and we got along splendidly. I will post more from this session later, but for now...just a couple with those amazing trees.

This 2 year old little guy's mommy emailed me a couple weeks ago asking if I could squeeze her in because she just found out that "B" would be having a surgery that has the potential to impact a nerve that controls his smile. I obviously had to get him in so he came over for a sorta "Baby Mini" although he is totally not a baby. We ran around my back yard and really just hung out and played. I have to admit since the whole purpose of this session was to capture his smile I was scared that he would not give me any smiles, but I assure you that in the first 30 seconds of meeting him I knew it was NOT going to be a problem. He was so happy, playful, and delightful with no fear of me. All I can say is he made me melt:) What an amazing little guy with such spirit!!! and ridiculously cute dimples too!
He had so many great smiles I think it is OK to add one a little bit more sassy!!!!!
What an amazing little boy. Thank you so much for sharing him with me and trusting me to do this.

but luck was just not on our side with this little photo session. First session was canceled due to illness, second session we got on location and tried our very hardest to tolerate the 90 mile per hour wind and freezing temperatures but ultimately called it quits after 20 minutes and the final session was almost as dark as midnight I swear as it was right before a thunderstorm. It is pretty unbelievable that we got a gallery out of fighting all that weather.
2 and 3 year old brothers in a large open space pretty much do this 90 percent of the time...
It is pretty amazing I got them to briefly slow down for their non running pictures....
making a little time for some bumper cars..
Lil "H" was such a little goof ball.
Our bad luck continued that evening when we almost got kicked out of where we were shooting (sorry mister owner guy and thanks so much for letting us stay:)) and then at the very end little goof ball fell and got a bloody knee.
All the bad luck though was made up for by how fun, sweet, and obviously resilient these two men were. Our eventful time together will surely be remembered:)

I kept feeling that way last week and it was driving me crazy. I looked through my pictures a couple times to see if I had left anyone out and then yesterday I peaked again and there she was. I do not know how it is possible that I had forgotten to blog her. Sometimes I think I may have mush for brains...
This is my second time photographing this little gal now 1 year old. She has the best unteachable America's Next Top Model look...here is what I mean...
And that one was not just a lucky grab...she gave me that look alot...luck me:)
She also had adorable and quite humorous smiles too...
And the family..these are some of my favorite family pictures. Mom is one of the sweetest people and dad is obviously quite smitten with his two ladies...although he is NOT allowed to come to our next session:) (That is a little inside joke)
Bye for now.....

Flash back to ten years ago in my life and I was graduating with my Physical Therapy degree. It is only too ironic that 10 years later I would be photographing a child of one of my PT classmates. Back then, we did a few crazy things together...not too crazy, normal college crazy. I recall that we both liked dancing and we enjoyed a few late nights together. Now our lives are much different than back then. No calmer I assure you with all our children, but very different. I find it all too funny that both of us book smart PT type people would both be happy settled into our lives with our PT careers taking a back seat to our husbands and our children. But here we are with new journeys and expectations of what life has to offer us...it will be interesting to see what the next 10 years brings, but for this PT, my friend, who I always laugh with even 10 years later, 10 years has brought her three children and a seriously ROCKIN time in the half marathon last weekend..like 1:45 I believe.
Anyway, it was just so awesome to meet her dolly. These were her one year pics and although her brothers wearing their Diego pajamas were not formally invited to the picture taking session of the baby sister, they made their appearance anyway...
I must give an explanation to miss O's face which could easily be misdiagnosed as many other emotions than what it truly is....her part 1 smile....This is the little very quick face she makes right before she is going to smile...
This is my favorite Picture from our time together...
my second favorite...
meet her favorite...doll that is..Meg. Meg came with us pretty much the whole session...poor meg being forced to hang upside down...
Now just a few more random favs...
And lastly..another crying picture...I know it seems weird, but if I add one to a gallery it is usually "extra" and when they have a sense of humor, it just makes me smile. Sometime, if I ever think of it at the right moment, I could actually show how I use crying pictures in my scrapbook. I have scrapped a ton of them. Especially for Josie who is very quick with her tears.
This picture is funny I think because mom says " I want her to have a bow so she looks more like a little girl", while little girl says this.....
Sometimes we just need to pick our battles..
