This morning I watched Steve and Ella drive off for their final move to Iowa. Grandma and Grandpa were here and it was a difficult moment. It is weird to think that Ella and Steve will not spend another night sleeping in this house. I am a little sad today thinking about everything we are leaving behind. We have a lot of memories here in this house. It was our first house and Ella and Jos were both babies here. It is for sure overwhelming. All this moving business has been such a whirlwind of activity the last few weeks I have had very little time to feel anything. Being in survival mode really keeps a person numb, but today I am sad and emotional. Ella will be returning to first grade this week and I will not be there again for her. I will be here while the movers are filling boxes full of our stuff. It will be an emotional week I am sure.
It is a hard transition. You know the expression the "grass is greener on the other side." Well I have to say that my grass is already green where I am at. I have the best friends ever here. I adore them and they are all special for different reasons. I just do not know how I will have friends like this anywhere else. There is just something about relationships that go back 20 years that can not be matched. To my lovely smart beautiful kind funny sassy supportive friends I will miss you so so much.
And then leaving all that family behind. It breaks my heart to take Ella and Josie away from their grandparents. They have been a tremendous gift in my children's lives. Always there when we need them and always there to give extra love to my girls. And my sweet niece Kayla who Ella and Josie adore and play with. I always felt so lucky that Kayla was nearby. Growing up with a cousin you have a life long friend...almost like another sister and I worry that bond will weaken.
Thanks to all my clients for their patience as we are making this transition. Between getting all the moving, buying a new house, having this house on the market, taking care of details, and honoring as many sessions as possible it has been difficult to answer emails and get galleries out with any sort of efficiency. I have had many emails which are not time sensitive in nature and once I get to Iowa I can hopefully respond to many of them. I promise I am not ignoring anyone, just trying to prioritize a bit.
Ok, enough of my sap story....how about a few images from one of my easiest sessions ever...and it was boys! Boys are not always the most naturally willing participants..it really could not have been any easier than this session. I almost felt bad charging them:)....
I do not know what could be more perfect than a series of squares on your wall of these three pictures of the two of them...Kelly, you may have to contact me to change your order:) Hee Hee...
So after this location we went exploring a bit and found this blue fence with greens. The light is nice and so colorful...I have taken a few other clients there as well now..
Just a couple more in case you have not gotten of enough of their cuteness yet...
Bye for now...Susie
