Tomorrow is the final move. Part of me is very relieved to have this time period OVER. It has been a very stressful and busy time. In this month we have bought a new house, picked all the finishing touches, put a house on the market, kept a house clean for being on the market, sold our house, started Ella in first Grade in Bettendorf, bought school supplies, tennis shoes, and school clothes, hosted friends at the lake, taken care of about 100 million details, attended 3 going away parties, moved Ella and Steve to Iowa, oh and last, but not least I shot 22 sessions this month. Just thinking about all of this chaos makes my head hurt, but it all needed to be done. I do find myself looking forward to moving in a way to find a little time for relaxation and peace and refocus on my family and sweet children.
I say "see you later" to Fargo and not Goodbye as I will be back lots and I will be taking sessions when I am home. I have had lots of previous and new clients express interest in sessions when I am back. At this point the best way I can keep track is to make announcements via my blog when I will be taking sessions and then let people officially contact me after that.
I am forever grateful to the tremendous support people have given me in my picture taking adventure. From my friends who encouraged me and those who trusted me with their babies I really am truly truly thankful.
Please stay tuned to the blog if you enjoy following it because I have a TON to post. (see the 22 sessions comment above). In addition to all the sessions to post I will also no doubt be posting actual pictures of my own girls in Iowa because I expect I will have no one else to take pics of for a while. Which actually leads me to my next little plea...if you know anyone in the quad cities with kids, I promise I will not mind at all if I could get a referral. I literally know not a single soul down there so I may be hearing crickets for a while:)
Here are some pics from a very fun/ hot session I did at the end of July. I traveled up to lake country for this one. You may remember this picture...
I know I mentioned that I love these old medal lawn chairs and I would love to get some of my own. This one happened to match her dress perfectly. We did all the sibs in the weeds in the chair, which is obviously becoming one of my favorite ways to shoot kids...in weeds in chairs...the one cool thing about walking through a bunch of weeds is there always seems to be lots of wildlife to appreciate (or scream and run from).
Before the session ended the kids changed into swimsuits with the idea of jumping off the dock and into the water. Somehow some communication was not clear and the little girl thought they were only jumping up and not into the water. When they all went to jump, she jumped up and got pulled into the water. Needless to say she was very scared and did not feel like trying for another jumping into the water picture. This picture is right before they all jumped in (3 jumped/ one was yanked in). I just love this picture for one reason....how the little girl was standing...how cute!!
Next post will be from Iowa...
Bye for now....Susie

Bye Susie, you will be missed! Our big move was today, so I will think about you tomorrow and understand fully what you are going through. Except for the fact that you lucky duck got your house sold and ours is still sitting there:)
