Loitering.......Quad Cities Photographer

 
defined as "lingering aimlessly"....we never did get in trouble for lingering aimlessly in front of this building with the "No Loitering" sign.  Thank heavens because it was such a great location in down town Cedar Rapids Iowa, I will be sure to go back.

That picture has got to be my favorite from the session except for the  fact little brother some how missed the boat on getting into this good grab....so here he is...

Back from Fargo!!!! Quad Cities Children's Photographer

I am finally back from Fargo and although I was sad to leave, I am glad to be back with my family.  I am also glad to be back so that I can post some new pictures.  This was still an August Fargo session (obviously I am way behind on posting), but I have been very excited to post it since I took them.  It was just a great day of everything working out perfectly and the final images I really love.

So the mama had a good idea of just getting two boys together at a time...

True Sneak Peak | Natural Light Photographer

Tomorrow I leave for 10 days in Fargo, but I had this session in the Quad Cities on Tuesday and I did not want the mommy to have to wait that long to see at least a couple of her pics...so here it is....a true sneak peak.  Prepare yourself...her children are GORGEOUS!!

This one had the most adorable pouty face..I am sure she did not even know she was doing it:)  Try saying no to that face if you are her daddy.

 

At the end of our session she declared that she was quite lonely that she did not have any sisters...she was instead blessed with two younger brothers.

Holiday Cards....Finally

I have the examples for holiday cards finally!  The scoop is they are 50 dollars for the digital file for you to use for as much printing as you want. They are a 5x7 size.  Most of the cards are customizable with your own colors and words.  The 50 dollars includes the additional set up of the card and then one extra refining edit.  Additional revisions are extra.  This years holiday cards can be purchased from any session from 2009.

Who rules the roost??? Quad Cities + Photographer

Guess who rules the roost in this house?

 
 

The shortest member of this family has found a way to make sure she gets plenty of attention in this family of five.  In my mind FEIST = PERSONALITY and as my hubby always says it is much harder to give someone some fire under their belly than to help shape and direct someone with a fire that is already there (does that make sense to anyone, but me??) 

If anyone has ever wondered how I can be a stay at home mom and run a side business at the same time (where are my kids when I do these sessions) this family is your answer.  There is usually no such thing as part time daycare, but every once in a while you meet some super people who bend the rules because they are just above and beyond nice people.  Almost every weekday session that I had in the mornings I got to drop my girls off at this families house for just a few hours while I did my session.  Not sure how I got so lucky to play stay at home mommy and photographer, but I could not have done it without out her (and my best friend Miss Erin who also helps me out).  Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

On a side note...I am coming home this week, back to Fargo.  Yippee, I will be home for 10 days for fun, scrapbooking with some gal pals and a whole bunch of sessions too.  So excited!!!

First...adorable baby..

 And some spunky school age children....question for ya???  Where do kids this age learn the bunny ear thing??  We as parents certainly do not teach them?  The bunny ear phenomenon is very common in school age boys, but this little girl was super sneaky getting them in....

The good news and the bad news...Iowa + Photographer

Two good things.  I finally got my computer back and because it took so long they gave me a bargain...and other thing is I had three sessions today.  One of them was a super awesome idea which I could never do in Fargo because the streets are too busy there...more on that later though.

On my computer I had to get an entire new hard drive...which you know what that means...bye bye everything on the previous hard drive.  No worries though.  I am very happy that I invested in three external hard drives to keep yours and my images safe and sound. 

So what's the bad news??  I CAN NOT TAKE PICTURES OF MY OWN KIDS!!!!  So I went to take Josie's pictures this week.  We were BOTH excited about it and she is 4...my favorite age.  So we get down by the spot I had in mind and all of the sudden she starts rubbing her eye...like non stop rubbing.  When she did look at my, she was squinting and then after all that rubbing her eye was VERY red and also  a little bit swollen.  Finally I gave up because there was no editing that out...of course, as soon as we got in the car she began to feel better, the rubbing ceased, and her eye eventually turned back to normal.

Here is one picture I took of her before her eye became swollen...it was red in it...that is why the black and white..but not swollen and piratey yet...

 

And another...this one in color...I thought maybe I will not notice the red if it is further away..nope..I can still see it:(  Such a cute smile on her too:(

 

And just a couple I snapped of my two babies while we were just hanging out later on that afternoon at home...
